Curing Sleep-Disordered Breathing with an Atlas air purifier

If you’ve been having trouble sleeping and your doctor can’t figure out what’s wrong, we might have something that could help you sleep better.

If my doctor can’t help me what can anyone else do?

A recent groundbreaking research study by the Harvard School of Public Health shows that air pollution increases the rate of Sleep-Disordered Breathing. Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB) causes abnormal breathing throughout the night so you do not sleep as well and your body is still tired in the morning. According to the study, the cause of this is from the pollution particles obstructing the central nervous system and thus worsening the symptoms. Pollutants in the air can also trigger asthma and allergies leading to an uncomfortable sleep. Removing the pollutants from the air will help combat SDB, allowing you a better night’s sleep.

What can I do to fight SDB and allergies?

The only way you can remove the pollutants from your air is to have an air purifier. Air purifiers incorporate different types of technology to remove pollutant particles from the air so you get cleaner air. At the Atlas store, we carry air purifiers that use two extremely powerful purifying methods. Our purifiers release ozone to attach to dirty air molecules and removes the pollutant. They also use advanced HEPA air filters to filter out any other particles. We combine advanced ozone producing technology with the HEPA filter in our air purifiers to bring you the most powerful air purifier on the market.

What happens when you don't clean your ozone plates and filter

What happens when you don’t clean your ozone plates or filter?

Ozone plates become rusty and dirty after repeated use because pollutants and other particles collect on your plate as it gets used. If you notice your air purifier is not working as well as when you first got it, it is most likely because the ozone plates on your machine are dirty. Your machine cannot release as much ozone to purify the air if the plates are dirty and damaged. Another reason could be that the filter in your air purifier is dirty. During everyday use of your purifier, particles get stuck in the filter and collect there until cleaned off. An uncleaned filter leads to less pollutants being filtered out so your air is not as pure as when you first bought the purifier. We have attached images of dirty filters and ozone plates that need to be cleaned below. Please refer to them to understand what can happen when you don’t clean your plates and filters.

How do I clean my ozone plates and filter?

Atlas recommends that you use a toothbrush and soap to clean your ozone plates or filters. Run your toothbrush under warm water and put a small squirt of soap onto the toothbrush. Scrub the metal part of the ozone plate thoroughly until the dust and other particles are gone. You can clean your filter the same way you clean your ozone plates. Scrub off as much of the dirt and dust on your ozone plates and air filters as you can every month to ensure the longevity of your air purifier.

What happens when I can’t scrub it all off?

Sometimes there will be too much wear and tear on your ozone plates and air filters. When that happens, you will need to buy new ozone plates and new air filters. We recommend you change your ozone plates and filter after a year of use even if you regularly clean them in order for your machine to be running optimally.

Most issues with your Atlas air purifier can be fixed by either cleaning your plates and filter or replacing them with new ones from the Atlas store. Click HERE to go the Atlas store to buy a fresh new set of ozone plates and filters.

Air pollution and how it affects YOU

“I don’t need an air purifier, I keep my house clean and I know the air in my house is clean!” Everyone believes this, but they are most likely wrong. Your air is not clean no matter how clean you think your house is.

How is it possible that my air is dirty?

You might think the air around you is clean because you take good care of your house, but that doesn’t matter if the air in your city is dirty. According to a study done by the American Lung Association, approximately 147.6 million Americans live in cities with air that is dangerous because of pollution and other air contaminants. You can keep your house clean but that does not affect the quality of air in your house that comes in from the outside. There will always be dirty air in your house because almost half of Americans live in cities with dangerous levels of air pollution. Even if you do not live in a city that is classified as dangerous due to air pollution, there is still pollution, just not at a level considered “dangerous.”

What happens when I’m around air pollution all the time?

The Physicians for Social Responsibility reported that air pollution can cause asthma, lung cancer, and other lung diseases. Our lungs are designed to be able to filter out some pollutants, but it cannot withstand constant air pollution and will eventually fail. It is not always possible to avoid polluted air, but when possible, you need to do whatever is necessary to avoid contaminated air.

What are some ways to avoid contaminated air?

You need clean air when you are home. The only way to ensure the air at home is clean is to use an air purifier. Air purifiers use either a filter or an ozone plate or even both to separate dirty air particles and contaminants from the air so you are only breathing in clean air. Air goes through a filter and anything else in the air will be caught by the filter. Air purifiers using ozone plates release ozone into the air to attach to dirty air molecules. The ozone attaches to the contaminated particle and falls off, leaving only pure oxygen. We recommend every household having an Atlas air purifier to fight off polluted air at home and to fight off asthma, lung cancer, and all the other lung diseases plaguing America.

Maintenance of your Atlas air purifier

Taking care of your shiney new Atlas air purifier allows you to enjoy it much longer. If you don’t take the time to care for your air purifier, it will break and malfunction much more than if you were to take care of it. Today we will discuss the steps required so your Atlas air purifier can remain running smoothly.

Why is it important to maintain your device?

Similar to how your car needs regular maintenance every 5000 miles, your air purifier needs maintenance every couple of months to remain functioning properly. We have seen air purifiers normally make. However, they started exhibiting all those problems because the product was not taken care of. Those problems occur when the ozone plates are not cleaned regularly and swapped regularly. They also occur when the filter is not changed regularly. With a few basic maintenance tips, you can prevent most of these problems and most other problems.

How should I maintain my device?

We recommend monthly cleaning at home. Turn off the device and remove the ozone plates from the air purifier. Use a towel to wipe down the plates, ensuring there are no particles stuck on the ozone plates. Wipe down the inside of the machine so there is no dust and the inside looks brand new. Wipe down the filter with a moist cloth as carefully as you can to clean any dust or dirt off. We also recommend that you change the plates between 6 months to 1 year, depending on how often the air purifier is used. Our ozone plates need to be replaced in order to produce the same amount of quality ozone as it did when you first bought them. When you go long periods of time without replacing your ozone plates, you might notice that your machine is not cleaning the air as it used to when you first got it. That is a sign that you are long overdue for new ozone plates. Don’t wait until it gets to that point, make sure you replace your ozone plates after 1 year latest if you want your Atlas air purifier to actually purify your air.

Do you have any other tips?

Other than monthly cleaning and also replacing the ozone plates, we also recommend replacing the filter on your air purifier yearly if your model uses an air filter. To replace the air filter, you just take it out from the back of your device and put in the new filter.

If you follow all these tips, your Atlas air purifier should run well for many years to come. Most customers run into problems when they don’t follow the maintenance and care tips for their device so make sure you follow them if you don’t want future problems.
